Health Share will launch a new provider portal in June checking on the eligibility status of Oregon health plan members

Beginning in June, Health Share will launch a new provider portal for checking the eligibility status of Oregon Health Plan members assigned to the coordinated care organization. Developed by Salem-based Performance Health Technology (PH Tech), the new portal will allow both physical and behavioral health providers to access patient eligibility, determine health plan assignments and find primary care provider information for all of Health Share’s partners in one location.

“The new provider portal is an important step in the continuing coordination of our partners into becoming an integrated delivery system for Medicaid members,” noted Janet C. Meyer, CEO of Health Share. “The portal will deliver a single point of administrative coordination among providers and our health plan partners.”

Health Share of Oregon is a collaborative partnership formed by Adventist Health, CareOregon, Central City Concern, Kaiser Permanente, Legacy Health, Oregon Health & Science University, Providence Health & Services, Tuality Healthcare and Clackamas, Multnomah and Washington Counties to create a single integrated health care delivery system.

In addition to checking eligibility and health plan assignment for both physical and behavioral health, the portal will identify the member’s primary care provider, eligibility history, language preference and, if applicable, pregnancy status. The new portal does not affect how claims or prior authorizations regarding Health Share members are submitted.

Physical health providers will continue to use Health Share’s plan partners’ provider portals pertinent to the member being served. Clackamas, Multnomah and Washington Counties will continue to use a separate version of PH Tech’s CIM web portal to manage behavioral health authorizations and claims payment. Existing users of that system can use the same username and password for the new Health Share provider portal site.

PH Tech has been working with Health Share partners, including Oregon Health & Science University and Legacy Health, to test the portal and address any needs or questions from providers. “We’re working on making the transition to the new portal as seamless as possible for our providers,” said Daniel Dean, Health Share’s Chief Information Officer.

“We’re confident the new portal will not only be intuitively similar in experience to MMIS, the state’s portal, but will also offer additional information of added value for providers.”

The new portal will be available for registration in early June. Provider offices will also be able to check eligibility via ANSI X.12 270/271 programmatic transactions or by telephone. In addition, to ensure a smooth transition, Health Share plan assignments will continue to be provided on MMIS through July. PH Tech will assist providers with registration and set up on the portal beginning in early June.

PH Tech will also provide training for individuals through online webinars, as well as a number of in-person training opportunities throughout the three country area. Further information on registration and training will be available on Health Share’s website at healthshareoregon.org.
