Oregon Health News invites Oregon women to get involved.
Oregon communities will celebrate this years NWHW week by promoting women’s healthy lifestyles and the impact and significance of healthy living for Oregon women.
Health and safety awareness empowers all women to make health a priority this year. The U.S Department of Health and Human Services’ Office on Women’s Health encourages women to focus their attention and efforts on the improvement of their physical and mental health while lowering their risks for certain diseases.
Oregon women from all walks of life are encouraged to take a variety of steps for both health and safety issues including:
- Get Active
- Eat Healthy
- Get plenty of rest
- Manage stress
- Avoid smoking
- Wear your seat belts, bike helmet and avoid texting while driving.
It’s no secret that women play a significant role as caregivers for their families, and often put the needs of their children, spouses, parents or partners ahead of their own.
This year the nation celebrates and observes National Women’s Health Week across America with families, neighborhoods, local counties, schools, recreation centers, healthcare providers, hospitals and businesses throughout the community.
Many local events include free health screenings, health fairs, and complimentary materials.
All participating Oregon businesses, schools, places of worship, healthcare facilities, professionals and organizations throughout Oregon can post their upcoming events free on the Oregon Health News event calendar at: www.OregonHealthNews.org – or call Lauren Lane at: # 541-218-9544
