Professionals from all walks of life are visiting casinos to unwind and de-stress, while enjoying a variety of entertainment – and not all are gambling according to a recent report from the AGA.
A 2013 report by the American Gaming Association (AGA) states that more than one-third of all Americans visit casinos and participate in casino activities which include: live entertainment, fine dining, professional shows, concerts, and clubs.
The Wildhorse Resort & Casino located in Pendleton Oregon is one casino that has created an environment offering something for everyone, and currently welcomes a variety of professional groups for conferences, meetings and events- from all walks of life.
“We want to make sure our customers have a positive experience and we offer one of the best meeting and event venues in the state” said Diane Long, Advertising Manager for Wildhorse Resort and Casino.
“Often large groups come to the resort for a variety of choices and exceptional service,” Long said. Clients like Bank of Eastern Oregon and Oregon Economic Development Association, as well as Fairwinds Leisure Care have all given rave reviews.
“Wildhorse hosted our most successful annual conference to date”, shared Jody Christensen, President of the Oregon Economic Development Association.
According to the AGA report, in the past 12 months more than one-third (34 percent) of Americans visited casinos. Aside from just gambling, these patrons took advantage of many more entertainment options: more than two-thirds (69 percent) of casino-goers ate in a fine dining restaurant; 55 percent saw a show, concert or other form of live entertainment; and nearly half (45 percent) visited a bar or club. In fact, about one-quarter (26 percent) of casino visitors say they never or rarely gamble when they visit casinos.
For organizations who enjoy the flavor of the Pacific Northwest and are shooting for a successful event with state-of-the- art AV equipment and a professional support team, Pendleton Oregon may be the next stop for a large (or small) convention.
